Dead space 2 and Mass effect 3 are also tied to SECUROM DRM so if you bought the game over a decade ago like I did and had a few different computers since then, one day sooner than you think, you will get a popup saying your CD key doesn't work anymore for no real reason.

Though those games came out in 2011 and 2012 and are still playable even though EA has tried to remove the original Mass Effect Trilogy and Trilogy bundle from all store fronts in favor of the "legendary edition" that outright removes the co-op horde mode that Mass Effect 3 is loved for. Which servers are still up for too.

Considering how many "Roleplaying games" even on this site lack any actual roleplay elements like Baldur's gate 3 has in spades from custom builds to get through combat and rewarding you for creative thinking like tricking a minotaur to jump off a cliff to get to you for an easier fight or even bypassing some encounters completely by just exploring using the tools provided, yes most people really don't understand what RPGs are and don't care to commit to taking their own story seriously. Then act surprised when the audience rightly doesn't either. They don't leave the immersion destroying and 4th wall breaking inside jokes for Easter eggs or the audience and their friends like what used to happen naturally if people liked a game well enough. Nope they dump that nonsense right in the middle of the main plot and keep forcing that garbage.

Video games and RPG's especially, are an interactive medium and most RPG's and Visual Novels masquerading as "RPG's" don't get that. Especially Visual novels or developer's insistence on constant speedbumps and exposition dumps. Even in a 2D written format where you literally don't have to illustrate anything sometimes. Its just pure laziness when its "GO FORWARD" as the only option in dialogue. May as well remove that completely and save the player a few seconds.

DDLC was the one exception I've found where a VN had actual RPG elements and actually engaged the player in any meaningful way with Monika and going through the game files for her. The player being talked at the whole time like some third party overhearing a group's conversations is not "RPG" material at all and would better fit a book.

This site hosts a ton of unfinished projects and a lot of the work I've been seeing over the years at a casual glance is uninspired garbage primarily made by cliques of children/shitposters or patreon/discord scammers who have this unspoken belief that its criminal to have any real imagination or original lines of thought. While of course being solely motivated by money. Not wanting to make something cool for the hell of it and that's a bonus if they can monetize it too. The very different mindset that built this industry decades ago.

0/10 this is literally a reddit moderator simulator. You can't just ignore the rare annoying comment like an actual human being. WE HAVE TO HIGHLIGHT THE FUCKING THING WITH A LOUD ALARM SOUND!

Why can't we just be faithful to our GF Mary in this game?

I really wish itch would ban all these blatant glowies and their politically themed propaganda shitposts.

Depends, will I be given immunity to the banhammer so I can actually work on the project without fear of some dipshit starting drama on any random day? I am a UE5 Dev and 3D artist.

It would help participation greatly if there were better templates to learn from than basically nothing in unreal and unity outside of the "BUY MY BOOK/COURSE" scammers shilling their snake oil all over the internet.  I still cant get animation blueprints to work properly outside of guess and check and forget trying to retarget animations with models you made yourself. Everyone will just gaslight you that the documented feature doesn't exist in UE4/5.

Where you are expected to redefine the entire concept of reality from scratch and all of the elitist asshole programmers who have experience would rather sit back and laugh at your inexperience instead of providing anything helpful to collaborative efforts and then get found out as the hacks they are when 99% of the assets they used were just flipped right off the asset store and their "games" are just buggy messes they never intend to fix even in the context of a learning experience.

Its like the concept of creating your own meaning in life instead of finding it in a world that is largely hostile or indifferent to you is an alien concept to the majority of wannabe "developers" on this site.

Seriously. They just dropped this VN created with a small modicum of effort and just fucked off forever. This is exactly the kind of interactivity that Visual Novels as a Genre are largely missing.

For whatever reason there is still no DDLC 2 or more Doki stuff beyond merch and he seems to have handed the IP off to whatever publisher made the heretical "DDLC+" for consoles.

What the hell is with the weird trend of user profile pictures being of small children on twitch and elsewhere just like the Original poster's profile picture back when the OP was made?

That's a grossly ignorant and incorrect childish statement to make. Most PC games from the 2000's can also still be played like Mechcommander 2 and Half Life 2/Garrysmod. If you are talking 2010's games you are mostly correct because of the rise of "live service" games that are designed to brick themselves the moment servers go down.

why did you necro this 6 year old post?

Is this position still open?

So how do we contact you if we are interested?
